Hat Sizing Guide

BECAUSE ONE SIZE DOESN'T FIT ALL™

Just because hats have always been too big or small does not mean you have a particularity small or extremely large head. You've just been trying 'one size fits all' hats. Take the time to measure your head. The size of your head does not necessarily correspond to your height or weight. All our hats are designed based on the same sizing, so you will wear the same size across all our styles.

Adult Hat Sizing Guide

Measure your head around the largest part of your crown just above your eyebrows with a cloth measuring tape. Measure at a tightness you would like your hat to fit. You should have a quarter inch of ease. If you don't have a measuring tape use a piece of string and measure it against a ruler. Pick the first size larger than your head measurement. An internal elastic snug will comfortably fit the hat to your head. If your head measurement is exactly on a size, choose that size if you like a snug fit or go up to the next size for a looser fit.

Kid Hat Sizing Guide

A well fitting comfortable hat ensures your child will wear it and it will stay on. Measure their head around the crown and choose the next size up. Age guidelines are approximate as children's heads can vary at the same age. Children's heads grow quickly over the first year and then slow down. One size can last for multiple years. Their heads are often full grown by the time they are 12 years old.

These hats are so comfortable. This is the 2nd one of this style I have purchased. I wore the 1st one every day during the summer for over 2 years. Hat #1 is still wearable for casual days but is starting to look well used. I have recommended Puffin Gear to many people

Beautiful hat. Have only worn it a few times so far, but it is lightweight and fits my head snuggly (a good thing so it won’t fly off). Am glad Orange Room offers multiple sizes and styles, will definitely shop with them again.

This hat is beautifully made and, even better, made right here in Canada. Unfortunately returned it as I found the band to be a bit too snug for a XL size and the chin strap was much too short for me. My head measures 23 1/4” and this hat was just a touch too tight.

My hat arrived today and I love it! The linen fabric, the stiff brim, the color—all perfect.

Love this hat. I wore it constantly in Europe recently. It went with everything. The fit is snug (I bought the smaller one) so I didn’t even need the chinstrap. I really like the small brim, it protected my head and face from sun, but I wasn’t bumping into others with it. I also like that the brim is wired and can be adjusted up, down etc.
